Miami Dolphins Aren't In On QB Kevin Kolb Trade Rumors

We've been talking about the various teams who could be involved in a trade for Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb. So far it seems the Arizona Cardinals are the favorite but there are a number of other teams who could be looking for a quarterback.

One of those teams is the Miami Dolphins. They have enough talent to be legitimate playoff contenders so you would think they'd be in on the trade rumors surrounding Kolb.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, that may not be the case.

Besides the fact Miami doesn't want to trade a future No. 1 pick when the lockout ends, one Dolphins official expressed skepticism about whether Kevin Kolb's body of work is enough to justify such compensation (seven career starts; 11 touchdowns; 14 interceptions).

This is very true but you also have to remember that quarterbacks with a proven track record are A.) generally not available through trade and B.) much more expensive than Kolb will be.

The Dolphins have most often been connected to QB Carson Palmer. Jackson's colleague, Armando Salguero, has been banging that drum for some time.
