The Pittsburgh Steelers won their Week 17 game over the Cleveland Browns, but may have lost starting running back Rashard Mendenhall to injury in the victory. Mendenhall left the game with a right knee injury and will have an MRI on that knee on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Mendenhall carried the ball eight times for 38 yards for the Steelers before leaving with his injury. He was replaced with Isaac Redman, who ran for 92 yards and a touchdown in Pittsburgh's 13-9 win.
Mendenhall led the Steelers with 890 rushing yards entering Week 17, and accumulated that total despite missing a game and leaving another early with injury in 2011. More importantly, perhaps, Mendenhall was a critical figure in Pittsburgh's 2010 run to the Super Bowl, scoring touchdowns in each of the Steelers' three postseason games last season. But his critical second half fumble in that game helped start a Green Bay Packers comeback.
