Fantasy Football 2012, Week 7: Running back PPR and standard rankings

DeMarco Murray is down and out. The sophomore out of Oklahoma has been ruled out already and this has all the makings of a multi-week absence. Felix Jones is a must-add player and he should be in most lineups as a flex this week against the Panthers.

The Steelers are hurting in the running game and not just because they're ranked last in YPC and No. 31 in rushing yards per game. Isaac Redman (ankle) hopes he can play on Sunday and the status of Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) is cloudy, too. Brandon Batch would be the biggest beneficiary, but this would be a move for owners in a serious pickle this week. It sounds like one will play against the Bengals.

Jahvid Best is out for the year and Kevin Smith is buried on the depth chart. It looks like Mikel LeShoure and Joique Bell will pick up most of the slack. This is still too messy to consider either player an option against the strong Bears D. Obviously, LeShoure has much more value and is a must-own back while Bell has some value in PPR leagues.

The Jets have lost Bilal Powell (shoulder) for this week and all signs point to Joe McKnight's high-ankle sprain could hold him out of action for a while. Shonn Greene's value surges back to RB2 status this week against the Patriots. Although, if you own him, I'd suggest selling high.

It sounds like Trent Richardson is going to be OK. However, Montario Hardesty asserted himself as the handcuff to own and he makes a ton of sense as a pickup in deeper leagues. Richardson owners might still want to handcuff him, assuming there's a player they're not in love with on their bench.
