The Kansas City Police Department named Kasandra Perkins as the victim killed by her boyfriend, Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher Saturday morning. The victim is 22 years old, according to KCPD. Belcher and Perkins reportedly were involved in an argument Saturday morning before he shot his girlfriend several times. Perkins was rushed to the hospital, but pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Shortly after the shooting at the couple's residence, Belcher drove to the Chiefs' nearby facility at Arrowhead Stadium. There, he took his own life in the players parking lot.
Perkins and Belcher had been dating for a few years and had a 3-month-old daughter together. The daughter is confirmed as safe and in the custody of her grandmother. Both reportedly witnessed the shooting at the residence.
