Trent Richardson breaks Browns rookie rushing touchdown record

A Kirk Cousins interception and a nice return by T.J. Ward got the Browns deep in the red zone, and the former Alabama running back made the Redskins pay.

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Trent Richardson hasn't been as explosive as Browns (and Crimson Tide) fans were hoping when the running back was taken third overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Some point to his happy feet behind the line of scrimmage or his running style not fitting the blocking scheme. There are also whispers of broken ribs.

Through all that, Richardson has had no trouble finding pay dirt. Following a Kirk Cousins interception on the Redskins' second drive of the game that was taken to the six-yard-line by safety T.J. Ward, T-Rich took the next snap into the endzone, breaking the Browns rookie record for rushing touchdowns. His 10th score put him ahead of both Jim Brown and Eric Metcalf.

This could be a long day for the Redskins, who are winners of their last four, but enter the game missing rookie sensation Robert Griffin III. They're taking on a surging Browns team which is on a three-game win streak of its own.
