The Philadelphia Eagles have listed Michael Vick as the third quarterback on the team's depth chart, according to head coach Andy Reid on Wednesday morning.
After Vick sustained a concussion in the team's Week 10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, rookie quarterback Nick Foles took over as starting quarterback. With the Eagles already eliminated from playoff contention, many believed that allowing Foles to remain the starting quarterback for the remainder of the 2012 season (regardless of Vick's availability), was the best course of action for the future of the franchise, as well as Foles.
On Dec. 3, Reid did just that and named Foles the team's starter.
Vick was cleared by an independent neurologist last Thursday to return to game action. However, he may not dress for the team's Week 16 contest against the Washington Redskins. On Wednesday moring, he stated that he can still be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
With Foles listed as the starter, Trent Edwards will act as the team's backup.
