Tim Tebow is heading to New York after the Jets traded fourth and sixth round picks for the now-former Denver Broncos quarterback. Everyone knew Tebow was on the trade block -- it was just a matter of which team would pull the trigger.
Now that Tebow is headed to New York, everyone wants to know how he fits in. I argued that there is no clear role for Tebow right now and, according to Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News, that's the case. Mehta reports that the Jets don't have a "clearly defined role" yet.
One Jets source tells Mehta, "He is a winner no matter how you slice it." And more: "I would never bet against Tebow."
These were the types of things we heard after he was drafted by the Broncos and ultimately took the starting job in the 2011 season. In Denver, Tebow was the quarterback of a team that made it all the way to the divisional round of the playoffs. In New York, the Jets may hope Mark Sanchez plays well enough that they don't even have to see Tebow on the field.
