NFL Week 2 Opening Lines: Patriots Biggest Favorite

The betting public hammered the New England Patriots in Week 1 and it looks like they will do the same in Week 2 as they host the Arizona Cardinals.

The Pats, already the biggest Week 2 favorite as Vegas and online sportsbooks opened their lines Tuesday, saw early cash push them to -15.5 at one shop. A huge amount of the early totals wagering was on the OVER in this game.

The Cardinals have now won six of seven overall, but have lost five straight to the Patriots (having been outscored 128-33 in the past four). Small wonder the early action is on the Pats and the OVER.

The Bears go from being an 11-point home favorite one week to a 7-point road dog the next, as they open the week Thursday at Green Bay. Historically, this matchup produces a Packer win (7-2 ATS past nine meetings) and an UNDER play (8-1 past nine).

Houston covered last week as the biggest chalk on the NFL betting board and they open as the biggest road favorite in Week 2, -9 at Jacksonville.

Several games remained off the board early Tuesday, all of them involving the Monday night teams from Week 1 (Raiders, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals). Expect those numbers to get posted shortly as sportsbooks test the early market and assess any injury situations stemming from those games.
