Giants cornerback Corey Webster left the field in the first half of New York's Thursday night game against the Panthers with a hand injury. Webster headed to the locker room for x-rays and his status for the rest of the game is still unknown
Webster is a veteran corner, spending all eight years of his career with the Giants. He has five tackles and one interception through the first two games of the season. New York's secondary has been hit by injuries early this year, with both Prince Amukamara and Jayron Hosley dealing with issues during the preseason. But Amukamara made his return from a high ankle sprain for the Carolina game, and Hosley is also playing and making an impact early.
Even without Webster, the Giants continue to bottle up Cam Newton and the Panthers offense. New York leads 17-0 in the second quarter.
