NFL, Time Warner Cable Reach Deal In Time For Week 3

NFL fans and Time Warner Cable subscribers will now have the NFL Network and the NFL Red Zone Channel available to them from the nation's second-largest cable provider.

Time Warner Cable and the NFL reached an agreement on Friday that will put the NFL Network and the NFL Red Zone channel in the cable provider's lineup. The agreement, which covers multiple years, will be announced sometime Friday, according to Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg.

The nation's second-largest cable provider will have the two channels up and running in time for Sunday's Week 3 NFL games, reports John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal.

Time Warner Cable covers approximately 12 million subscribers in the United States, including the New York City market. It was the only major cable provider in the nation that did not have the NFL Network and its Red Zone Channel included in its service.

The company's basic digital cable package will have the NFL Network, which include a lineup of 13 prime time games on Thursday nights this season. The Red Zone Channel will be available on the special sports package, says Ourand.
