Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith will reportedly play for the Ravens against the New England Patriots on Sunday after travelling to be with his family following the death of his younger brother Tevin Smith. Smith's brother died in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident late on Saturday night. Torrey Smith had left the Ravens to be with his family in Virginia shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.
The Ravens left the decision up to Smith on whether or not he will play on Sunday when the Ravens host the Patriots at M&T Bank Stadium. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh released a statement Sunday morning stating:
"This is devastatingly sad, sad news. Torrey and his family are a close, special family, and our hearts and thoughts reach out to all of them. Our hearts ache today. We pray for Tevin, his mother, Torrey and the rest of the family. God bless Tevin."
