Jason Witten Injury: Cowboys TE Cleared For Week 2

Tight end Jason Witten has still not been cleared to play in the first game of the season for the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday against the New York Giants, but all signs point to a return for him in Week 2. The star tight end has been out with a lacerated spleen since the Cowboys' first preseason game against the Oakland Raiders and only got back to practicing with the team on Sunday.

Jerry Jones has said that Witten is going to be cleared for Week 2 when the Cowboys face the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by ProFootballTalk.

As Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram pointed out during a Tuesday visit to PFT Live, owner Jerry Jones has said that Witten has been cleared to play in Week Two, when the Cowboys travel to Seattle.

There is still a chance that Witten will see the field against the Giants, though indications make it seem very unlikely at this point.
