Steelers vs. Jets 2013 odds: New York favored at home against Pittsburgh

The Jets are favored at home against the Steelers in Week 6.

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

The Jets will return home to face the winless Steelers in Week 6. The Jets are riding high at 3-2 through five weeks and will look to add to their win total against a lowly Steelers team that has failed to find success this season. The Jets have the odds in their favor as they are a 2.5-point favorites at home against Pittsburgh, according to OddsShark.

New York is coming off an impressive road win against the Falcons. While Geno Smith has not always looked terrific at quarterback, his play in Week 5 was strong and he was able to throw for three touchdowns and no interceptions. If he can continue that style of play in Week 6, it will be another long afternoon for Pittsburgh. The Jets defense has been tough this season, so the Steelers' scoring ability will likely be hampered on Sunday.

For the Steelers, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will have to set the tone on offense. Big Ben has struggled to connect with his wide receivers and the slow re-emergence of Heath Miller has made it even harder for the quarterback to move the ball downfield. The Steelers defense will also have a tough task as it tries to contain Smith and his trio of running backs.

The Jets will host the Steelers at 1 p.m. ET Sunday. The game will be televised on CBS.
