NFL odds 2013, Week 5: Chiefs vs. Titans

Kansas City will try to keep its undefeated record alive against a tough Tennessee group.

Jamie Squire

The Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans are two of the more surprising teams of the young NFL season.

Kansas City enters 4-0 after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants under new head coach Andy Reid. Tennessee is in the midst of a three-game homestand, having beaten the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets already.

The Chiefs are surprising 2.5-point favorites on the road at LP Field, according to Oddsshark.com.

The Chiefs have had the best defense in the NFL points-wise to this point, giving up a slight 10.3 points per game. Kansas City is also leading the league in sacks with 18, helped along by Justin Houston's 7.5 sacks.

Tennessee's defense has also been very good, but may need to be even better with Jake Locker now on the shelf for four to six weeks with a sprained hip. The Titans defense sits 7th in points allowed per game (17.3) and has a stingy pass defense led by Alterraun Verner. Verner already has four interceptions thus far this season.
