The 49ers could be the next team to volunteer for HBO's "Hard Knocks." Head coach Jim Harbaugh seemed open to being involved with the show, according to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Borrows (via NFL.com). Harbaugh claimed to be a fan of the show and would not turn down the opportunity if San Francisco was picked for the documentary series, per Barrows.
Harbaugh has been in several commercials recently, including spots for Pepsi and Visa, so he is no stranger to the cameras. However, despite Harbaugh's openness to the show, his team would not qualify to make the list of possible picks under the new policy unless they volunteered. Harbaugh has had a playoff team within the last two seasons, so his team would be exempt from being selected. Also, there may already be a volunteer for next season, as the Chargers have discussed possibly appearing on the show.
The 49ers will host the Cardinals on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
