The Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints in an NFC South game that doesn't look nearly as good as it did in August. Vegas bookies agree, giving the Saints a 9.5-point spread in the game, according to OddsShark.
These two teams are headed in opposite directions. The Saints stayed in control of first place by knocking off the San Francisco 49ers, 23-20. They were 3-point favorites and managed to hit on the Vegas lucky number, covering the spread perfectly. New Orleans improved to 8-2 on the season and 6-3-1 against the spread. The Saints are still two games behind the Seahawks in the race for home-field advantage, but stay in good position for a first-round bye.
The Falcons' season continues to circle the drain after losing their fourth straight game. This time, they fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 41-28. The Falcons were 2.5-point underdogs and never came close to covering. They drop to 2-8 in the standings and 2-8 against the spread.
