The Jonathan Martin hazing scandal has taken a new turn. Martin has been placed on the non-football injury list by the Miami Dolphins and is done for the rest of the season, according to NFL.com. Martin has been out of the lineup since Week 9 for "personal reasons."
Martin and teammate Richie Incognito have been at the core of a hazing investigation this season. Martin has accused Incognito of verbally abusing him and the NFLPA is conducting an investigation regarding the situation. Incognito has been suspended since Week 10 and has agreed to extend his once-four-game suspension to six games. In exchange for the heavier suspension, Incognito will be paid for four of the games that he has been forced to sit out.
It is uncertain whether or not Martin has played his last game as a member of the Dolphins. The second-year lineman has started all 23 games that he has appeared in during his career. Martin was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by Miami.
