The New England Patriots will have fewer options at wide receiver when they take on the Miami Dolphins Sunday, as Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Thompson have both been ruled out.
The Patriots have downgraded WRs Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson to out for Sunday's game.

Dobson has not played since hurting his foot against the Carolina Panthers in Week 11, and the rookie out of Marshall had just started to get his feel for the offense before the injury. After struggling for most of the early part of the season, Dobson caught five passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns against the Steelers in Week 9. On the season, he has 35 receptions for 492 yards and four touchdowns.
Thompkins, also a rookie, went undrafted out of Cincinnati but was able to make the Patriots' roster as a free agent. After catching two touchdowns in Week 3, Thompkins caught six passes for 127 yards and a score in Week 4 and looked poised for a big season. Since then he has struggled, as he hasn't scored a touchdown since October.
That leaves New England with Danny Amendola, Josh Boyce, Austin Collie, Julian Edelman and Matthew Slater as their wide receivers Sunday. The game in Miami is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
