E.J. Manuel injury: Bills QB ruled out for Week 16

The rookie quarterback suffered a sprained knee and has already been ruled out for Sunday's game.

Buffalo Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. Manuel is dealing with another knee this season.

Manuel sprained his knee in last week's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He stayed in the game and didn't miss a snap, but the Bills decided to shut down their first-round pick for at least one week. Thad Lewis will get the start in Week 16, and could potentially play in the regular season finale if Manuel is still unable to go.

The Bills drafted Manuel in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. His rookie year has been marred by knee injuries. Manuel missed most of preseason with a scope surgery and sat out four games after spraining it again against the Browns in Week 5. Manuel has had his rookie struggles with the Bills so far, completing 58.8 percent of his passes for 1,972 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 10 games.
