UPDATE, (10:20 p.m. ET): The 2014 NFL playoff schedule and bracket has been set.
UPDATE: 8 p.m. ET - The Chargers beat the Chiefs in overtime, meaning San Diego is the No. 6 seed in the AFC and will play the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round. The Seahawks beat the Rams to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC, while the 49ers and Saints locked up the five and six seeds respectively.
A slate of eight early games filled out much of the NFL's playoff picture, now the afternoon now presents several important contests with two divisions yet to be decided. Sunday afternoon will also decide seeding in both conferences, with home field advantage being of special importance.

One game can't be decided until Sunday night, with Dallas and Philadelphia facing off in a "win and in" game to decide the NFC East, but here is a full look at the scenarios that could take place in the afternoon games.
AFC
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos face the Oakland Raiders, and the No. 1 seed is on the line. Denver is currently 12-3, and a win will guarantee the top spot in the AFC with home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
New England Patriots
Here's where New England factor into the discussion for home field advantage. The Patriots host the Buffalo Bills, and a win paired with a Denver loss would earn New England the No. 1 seed by virtue of their head-to-head win.
Things get a little more complicated if the Patriots lose to Buffalo, the Bengals have a chance to send New England into a wild card position.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals bested the Baltimore Ravens in the early game, and can secure the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye with a New England loss.
Indianapolis Colts
A win by the Colts and Bengals means Indianapolis will play in the wild card round.

Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have wrapped up the AFC's top wild card, regardless of their result against San Diego.
Miami Dolphins
Miami has been eliminated from the playoffs with their loss. Either San Diego or Pittsburgh will take their spot.
Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore will not return to the playoffs following their loss.
San Diego Chargers
The Chargers can grab the No. 6 spot if they manage to beat the Chiefs, which has been made considerably easier given news Kansas City will rest many of their starters.
Pittsburgh Steelers
If the Chargers lose, the Steelers will earn an unexpected wild card berth.
NFC
Seattle Seahawks
A win against St. Louis ensured home field advantage through the playoffs.
Carolina Panthers
Carolina won, giving the Panthers an NFC South win, and a first round bye.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles' playoff fate can't be decided until Sunday Night Football. A win gives them the NFC East crown, a loss eliminates them.
