The San Francisco 49ers defeated the St. Louis Rams to strengthen their hold on an NFC wild card spot, but are also dealing with some injuries.
Tackle Joe Staley sustained a sprained MCL in the game and did not return to action. Staley's timetable to return is not clear yet. Without him in the lineup, Matt Barrows will continue to fill in.
Tight end Vernon Davis went down in the second half after being tackled across the sideline and stayed on the ground for a bit before returning to the field. It appeared to be a groin injury, but apparently was not serious. Guard Mike Iupati did not dress for the contest with a sprained MCL, and his status is uncertain for this Sunday.
In the same game, the Rams took a blow along the offensive line with center Scott Wells now out for the season after suffering a fractured fibula. It is non-displaced, but will still take 4-6 weeks to heal.
For the Seattle Seahawks, they had no notable injuries in their 34-7 win over the New Orleans Saints. The same can be said for the Arizona Cardinals, who lost 24-21 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
