NFL playoff scenarios Week 14: 7 teams can clinch divisons or spots on Sunday

The postseason could have some new official entrants after Sunday's slate of games.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL's playoff picture is getting clearer by the day. With Week 14 on the horizon, seven teams are looking to lock up their spots as soon as possible. The Broncos, Chiefs, Colts and Patriots in the AFC, along with the Seahawks, Saints and Panthers in the NFC, all have the opportunity to determine their playoff destinies by Monday.

In the AFC, the Broncos can lock up their spot with a win or a loss by either the Dolphins or Ravens on Sunday. The Chiefs can do the same with a win and a loss or tie from either Miami or Baltimore, meaning that both Denver and Kansas City can clinch spots on the same loss by their AFC foes. The Patriots have two ways to clinch on Sunday, as they can win the AFC East with a win and a Dolphins loss. New England can just clinch a playoff spot with a win and a Baltimore loss. The Colts can clinch the AFC South with a win or a Titans loss on Sunday.

In the NFC, while the Seahawks have locked up a playoff spot, they can clinch their division on Sunday. All Seattle has to do is beat or tie the 49ers in San Francisco. The Saints can lock up a spot with a win and losses from the Cardinals, Eagles and Cowboys. They can also make it with a win, losses by the Eagles, Cowboys and 49ers along with a tie from Arizona. The Panthers can reserve a playoff position with a win along with losses from Arizona, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Dallas.
