The scouting reports on LSU defensive end Lavar Edwards talk about a big strong guy who isn't going to be the fastest lineman on the field, but has the high motor that teams will like. He is, in many ways, exactly like his former head coach, Les Miles.
Edwards gave us the scouting report on the Tigers head coach on Saturday at the Combine when asked if Miles or Alabama coach Nick Saban would have the better Combine performance.
"I might say coach Miles," Edwards said. "I've seen coach Miles run a little bit. He can move better than I thought he could, to tell you the truth. I haven't been around coach Saban, so I don't know exactly. But I have seen coach Miles jumping around a few times and he can move pretty good."
For an old guy? "Yeah," Edwards replied with a laugh.
Edwards also remembered the first time he saw Miles eat some field grass.
"I can't remember what game it was. I just happened to be looking when he did it. It was funny to me. I was like 'so that's how he does it.' He's pretty passionate about it actually."
