The Baltimore Ravens came away victorious in Super Bowl XLVII, winning a 2nd Lombardi Trophy.
Going into the week, the San Francisco 49ers began as five-point favorites. Throughout the week, it went down to 4.5 and was eventually reduced to an even four before kickoff.
Though, at no point during the two weeks leading up to the big game were the Ravens favored. As the game began on Sunday, Baltimore was calm and collected while San Francisco looked antsy. It wasn't long before this game got away from them.
The Ravens dominated in all three phases for much of the game.
It seemed that the bettors were doubting Baltimore in favor of an up-and-coming San Francisco team. But experience played a factor, which affected the way the line turned out. According to Fansided, the over/under was set at 47.5, which seemed out of reach with the Niners' inability to score early.
And though they failed to score more than 10 points in the first half, the 49ers managed to cover the line with some remarkable second-half efforts. At the end of the day, 65 points were scored in this one.
Those who bet the over were hoping for a shootout with Joe Flacco and Colin Kaepernick both participating. That didn't turn out to be the case until late in the game. In what turned out to be an action-packed contest, the final result was 34-31, BAL.
The underdog came away victorious, and the line was covered.
