Willie Amendola, father of Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola, is suing Cowboys Stadium over a runaway golf cart incident back in 2011, according to Blake Hurtik of mysanantonio.com. Amendola coaches football at Spring Dekaney High School and was one of several people struck by the cart as it made its way through a crowd. The scene has since become an Internet legend:
There were reports of one man taken to the hospital with a leg injury as a result of the runaway cart. Amendola is suing Cowboys Stadium for more than just an injury. Hurtik reports that he is seeking more than $1 million in damages for "physical pain, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity and loss of enjoyment." The latter stems from "personal embarrassment" cause by the viral-nature of the video.
Amendola is still the head coach at Spring Dekaney High School and led the team to a 6-3 record in 2012.
