Andrew Luck and the Colts first-team offense was clicking on Sunday night, and the Colts cruised to a 20-12 victory over the New York Giants in Week 2 of the preseason.
Luck exited the game after completing nine of his 13 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns. His primary targets were in top form as well. Reggie Wayne caught three passes for 37 yards and a touchdown, while Darrius Heyward-Bey caught four passes for 42 yards, helping the Colts take a 20-6 lead into the half. T.Y. Hilton even added 36 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hakeem Nicks made his preseason debut for the Giants. He caught two passes for 40 yards, but Eli Manning was less than stellar. He completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes for 91 yards and an interception.
Injury report?
Victor Cruz was the biggest injury scare of the game, leaving early with a foot injury. He was taken to the locker room to get X-rays. The results came back negative. He has a bruised heel. The Giants also lost center David Baas to a knee sprain.
The Colts lost Coby Fleener to a knee sprain as well, according to Adam Schefter. Fleener struggled with injuries during his rookie season as well.
Did they cover?
The Giants entered the game as two-point favorites, failing to cover the spread.
What's next?
The Colts will take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 3 of the preseason, and the Giants play the Jets.
