Randy Moss reportedly close to joining Fox's football coverage

Randy Moss just can't stay away from football. After the future Hall of Famer failed to draw interest for his on-field services, Moss has been approached FOX and could be close to joining their staff for football coverage. Plenty of former players have made a smooth transition to broadcasting, and given Moss' outspoken nature, he should be no exception.

Darren McFadden contract: Raiders reportedly have 'checked in' on extension with RB

Despite his injury history and underwhelming play, Darren McFadden may be in line for an extension with the Oakland Raiders. The team has reportedly "checked in" with its star running back about a new deal. The hope is that scrapping the zone-blocking scheme will help McFadden get back to his old, productive self.

Rodger Saffold injury: Rams RT dislocates shoulder, will miss a few games

The Rams have had issues with their offensive line in recent years, mostly due to injuries. Rodger Saffold, a fourth year tackle out of Indiana, has missed 13 games in the last two seasons and had to exit Thursday night's preseason opener after two plays with a dislocated shoulder. Jeff Fisher didn't seem concerned about the injury but noted that Saffold could miss a few games.

49ers WR A.J. Jenkins brushes off poor preseason start

Jim Harbaugh was hoping for more out of A.J. Jenkins. He said so after the game in which Jenkins had one reception and fumbled it away. Since being drafted No. 30 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, Jenkins has been disappointing. Given San Francisco's injuries at wide receiver, he has the chance to emerge as a threat for the team's passing game this season. But the early results in preseason have been more of the same from Jenkins. Still, he's not concerned about the slow start.
