The Bears are currently leading the Steelers by the score of 40-33 in the fourth quarter, but prior to a fumble return for a touchdown by Julius Peppers, a controversial review that resulted in a touchdown took place on Sunday Night Football.
While the referees in the Bears-Steelers game initially ruled the catch by Earl Bennett as an incomplete pass, after the challenge flag was thrown from Bears' head coach Marc Trestman, the call was reversed. While you can see both feet get down in bounds, it is questionable whether or not Bennett had full control of the ball as his feet touched the end zone. Regardless, the remarkable catch will likely be a Bears' highlight for years to come.
The play in question was very important to the game as it put the Bears up by 10 points over the Steelers near the end of the fourth quarter, essentially sealing the deal for Chicago. Then Peppers' defensive touchdown just minutes later further buried the Steelers and locked up the win for the Windy City.
