The NFL draft is reportedly picking up its ball and going outside of New York City to play. The 2015 NFL Draft will be held in Chicago from April 30-May 2, league sources have told Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.
News broke earlier Thursday that the league, looking to bolt Radio City Music Hall, had narrowed its options down to Chicago and Los Angeles. The NFL was was turned off by its longtime host after a scheduling conflict forced the 2014 draft to be pushed back to May 8, drawing the ire of fans not happy with having to wait an extra three weeks.
Its not the first time the event has been held in the Windy City: Chicago hosted the 1964 NFL Draft, the last one to be held outside of NYC, according to Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar.
Despite indications that the schedule format could be changed next year, the draft will remain a three-day event.
