49ers left tackle Joe Staley doesn't get beat very often, but the All-Pro lineman got roasted by Broncos pass rusher DeMarcus Ware on Sunday night. Staley bites on Ware's fake spin move. By the time he realizes that he's all alone near the line of scrimmage, Ware is sacking quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Watch.
Most of the attention during Denver's Sunday night thrashing of the 49ers went to Peyton Manning, for obvious reasons. Ware and Von Miller put on a show of their own, combining for five of the Broncos' seven sacks on the night (Ware had three).
Denver's defense is allowing an average of 20.2 points per game, the seventh-best mark in the NFL. The Broncos have 21 sacks so far this season, and only two teams have more. Opposing passers have completed just 58.5 percent of their throws against the Broncos, and are averaging just over 242 yards through the air per game.
It's still early, but the Broncos look like the most complete team in the NFL through seven weeks of play.
