C.J. Mosley caught with weed, disarmed smoke alarm in London hotel, per report

New, comments

Mosley received a two-game suspension from the Lions for "conduct detrimental."

The Detroit Lions suspended C.J. Mosley for two weeks and sent him home from London last week. Now, we have an idea of why, as ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the defensive tackle was caught with marijuana in his hotel room overseas after he disconnected a smoke alarm.

Mosley received a two-game suspension from the Lions for what was called "conduct detrimental" and a "violation of team rules," although specifics were not provided by the team. With Mosley out of the lineup, the Lions faced the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8 with only Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley and Caraun Reid in rotation at defensive tackle, but still managed to keep the Atlanta offense under 300 yards of total offense in a 22-21 victory.

The Lions have a bye in Week 9 and face the Miami Dolphins in Week 10, so Mosley should be eligible to return to the defensive lineup in time for a Week 11 road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Mosley, who joined the Lions in 2013, also has NFL experience with the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars.
