We now have one round to go in the 2014 NFL Draft, as the sixth round has just come to an end. Most of the top talent has finally been picked, with some very notable names going in the fifth round. Quarterbacks A.J. McCarron and Aaron Murray both went in the fifth round, to the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.
NFL Draft
The sixth round saw a big-name quarterback come off the board early in Zach Mettenberger of LSU. He went to the Tennessee Titans at No. 178. Mettenberger is an interesting pick for Tennessee, and could end up competing with Jake Locker. David Fales of San Jose State also went in the sixth round, to the Chicago Bears at No. 183. That's a great situation for him, as he can backup Jay Cutler and learn from Marc Trestman and possibly take over down the line.
We also saw the first punter or kicker taken when the Bears took Pat O'Donnell of Miami with the No. 191 overall pick. The first player from a Canadian school also went in the sixth round, as the Kansas City Chiefs drafted offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif of McGill. The first fullback went at No. 211, when Jay Prosch was drafted by the Houston Texans with a compensatory pick.
