It was billed as one of the most unpredictable drafts in years, and the 2014 NFL Draft lived up to expectations in Thursday's first round.
Despite some rumors about them trying to trade out of the top spot, the Houston Texans hung on and took Jadeveon Clowney, making him the first defensive player to go No. 1 since Mario Williams in 2006. But the real madness came in the quarterback class.

The Jacksonville Jaguars made the first real surprise of the night, selecting Blake Bortles over Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater. Many thought Johnny Football would end up with the Cleveland Browns when they traded down to the No. 9 spot, but Cleveland moved up one spot and grabbed Justin Gilbert instead. After that, Manziel tumbled to the 20s before the Browns traded back up to take him No. 22 overall.
Meanwhile, Bridgewater nearly had to wait until Friday to hear his name called, but the Minnesota Vikings traded back into of the first round to pick up the Louisville quarterback at No. 32. They also took Anthony Barr at No. 9, making it a nice haul for Mike Zimmer's first draft.
Elsewhere, the St. Louis Rams shored up the line on both sides, drafting Greg Robinson and Aaron Donald. The Buffalo Bills made an aggressive move to upgrade their receiving corps, sending their 2015 first and fourth-round picks to Cleveland to move to No. 4 and take Sammy Watkins.
