The Detroit Lions announce that middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch has been placed on the injured reserve due to an ACL tear suffered during Sunday's 19-7 win over the Green Bay Packers.
While the injury is serious, the manner in which Tulloch injured himself was rather humorous. Following a tackle in the backfield, the linebacker broke into a rather exuberant version of Aaron Rodgers' trademark Discount Double Check dance. Tulloch's knee buckled, throwing him to the turf and forcing him to exit the game.
The injury brings back the memories of Bill Gramatica, who tore a knee ligament during a field goal celebration back in 2001.
Third-year linebacker Travis Lewis moves into the starting lineup in Tulloch's place.
