The Associated Press announced the 2014 All-Pro team on Friday, recognizing the best players from the 2014 season. The Dallas Cowboys led the league with four players on the All-Pro roster, including Demarco Murray, Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith and rookie Zach Martin, the only first-year player to make the cut.

The list includes the usual suspects, including two members of the Seattle Seahawks Legion of Boom, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas, who are both making their third consecutive appearance. Linebacker Bobby Wagner was also selected, a career first for him. Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was also voted to his third straight first team selection, another argument for winning the MVP award this year.

Watt was a unanimous pick by voters. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was also a unanimous pick for the team.

While Dallas led the way with four players, Pittsburgh and Seattle each had three players selected. Voters picked 16 players from the AFC and 11 from the NFC.

Unlike the fan vote that determines most of the Pro Bowl roster, a group of 50 voters from the NFL media choose the first and second team All Pros. These players are considered the best of the best from the season at their position.

NFL writers have been picking All-Pro teams in one form or another since the 1920s. The Associated Press version of the award has been around since the 1940s.
