New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman could have a concussion, or at the very least should be checked for one, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Birkett reports that he can hear "independent medical doctors" in the press box radioing down to the sideline that Edelman, who took a big hit earlier in the game, should be checked for a concussion.
Another tweet from Birkett says that the doctors radioed down that Edelman hasn't been looked at yet, since he never came off the field for an injury. Edelman took a big hit from Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor, known for being one of the hardest-hitting players in the league. There were a couple plays where he took awhile to get back up after going to the ground.
Edelman missed the final two games of the regular season with a concussion.
The Patriots currently trail the Seahawks by three points in the fourth quarter. Edelman has caught seven passes for 97 yards in the game, and has been targeted 10 times.
