New Orleans Saints cornerback Brandon Browner left the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night with an unknown injury. Browner went down and came up limping after a Ravens touchdown early in the game, and then was carted off the field.
In addition to Browner, linebacker Dannell Ellerbe sustained an injury and also went to the locker room. He also came up limping and then went to the locker room under his own power. There's no official word from the Saints on whether the players will return, but it seems unlikely given the fact that this is the first preseason game and both players are considered starters.
Then there's Delvin Breaux, who came in for Browner but who went down and had to be checked out by trainers on the sidelines. He doesn't appear to be headed to the locker room, though.
It was a rough start to the game for New Orleans in general. In addition to the two injuries on the opening drive of the game, the team also allowed Baltimore to march 80 yards in 16 plays, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown run by Lorenzo Taliaferro.
