Jason Pierre-Paul is an optimist if nothing else. Hours after an ESPN report revealed that the star defensive end is missing part of his thumb in addition to his entire index finger -- the result of a Fourth of July fireworks accident that has the Giants wondering whether he can play this season -- JPP posted an Instagram video with a caption promising to "be back soon."
Here's the full caption for the video:
God can turn any situation around for the better. Your hard times will lead to the best times of your life. Don't believe the hype ... Be back soon! #90PC #ImAFighter #PutMeInCoach
The Giants were reportedly surprised by the extent of JPP's injury when they met with him after the preseason. He's set to meet with the team again in five or six weeks, at which point they'll decide whether to rescind his $14.8 million franchise tender.
