Pro Bowl rosters have officially been selected by Michael Irvin, Jerry Rice

In a desperate effort to spice up arguably the most useless All-Star Game in professional sports –– which is quite the dubious feat, by the way –– the NFL decided two years ago to name two Hall of Famers as Pro Bowl captains. This season, wide receivers Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice selected their rosters in front of a primetime audience Wednesday on ESPN.

After one year in Arizona, the Pro Bowl makes its return to Hawaii this season. The 2016 Pro Bowl will air Jan. 31 at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN from Aloha Stadium, which is where it's traditionally been held. The only issue is, it doesn't seem as if anybody wants to go.

This year's invitation to the Pro Bowl is the most declined in history, with 133 players being selected for the game. Most notably, all seven New England Patriots who were selected have backed out. Even Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy turned down his invitation, citing an illness.

But 86 players will take the field Sunday for Teams Irvin and Rice. Here's what those rosters look like:
