NFL scores 2016, Week 4: Vikings stifle Giants at home to stay unbeaten

The NFL has reached the quarter mark of the 2016 season following an exciting round of Week 4 games.

Sunday's action got started off early with a London game between the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have had a disastrous 0-3 start to the season, but they potentially saved head coach Gus Bradley's job -- for now at least -- with a 30-27 win over the Colts. Both teams are now 1-3, and the Houston Texans still have the inside track on the AFC South crown, even though they lost J.J. Watt for the year.

Seattle didn't have much trouble with its cross-country trek to New York. The flight home will no doubt be a cheerful one as the Seahawks outplayed the Jets in a 27-17 victory.

The Atlanta Falcons surprisingly find themselves in first place in the NFC South at 3-1 after they managed to keep the once-powerful Carolina Panthers in the league basement with a 48-33 victory. It didn't help the Panthers at all that Cam Newton was pulled from the game to undergo concussion evaluations.

Rex Ryan's Buffalo Bills are never boring, but the New England Patriots' offense sure was as they stumbled and fell to their rivals, 16-0. The Bills didn't appear too fazed by their injuries, while the Patriots are definitely ready to welcome Tom Brady back next week.

With a win on the road against the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys improved to 3-1 behind the rookie combo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams stayed on top of the NFC West with a win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Sunday Night Football featured the Pittsburgh Steelers getting Le'Veon Bell back after he served his three-game suspension. Behind five touchdown passes from Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh absolutely crushed the Kansas City Chiefs 43-14 in game that didn't even seem that close.

This week's Monday Night Football game also didn't quite live up to expectations. The Minnesota Vikings improved to 4-0 with a 24-10 win over the New York Giants that ended without much drama. New York entered the game 2-1 and looked ready to give the Vikings a real challenge at home, but Minnesota's defense was once again up to the task as Eli Manning and Co. had more turnovers (two) than touchdowns (one). We're still waiting for that one week of truly amazing primetime games this season.

Highlights

Allen Robinson spun the football and earned a taunting penalty, which cancelled out a penalty on the Colts for a high hit. Makes sense.

The Bills and Patriots couldn't even wait until kickoff to start fighting.

It only took a pair of three-and-out drives for Bill Belichick to smash a tablet.

A fan threw a helmet at Jerry Jones for an autograph and oops, it hit the Cowboys' owner in the head.

The refs probably screwed the Browns, the last winless team in the NFL, on a fumble call.

The Buccaneers' game was delayed by weather for the second straight week. They lost (again).

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was fined again for a touchdown celebration.

Mike Zimmer can't stop cussing even when the Vikings are winning.

Injuries

Cam Newton went head-to-head with a Falcons defender and left the game. The Panthers later confirmed he suffered a concussion.

Darrelle Revis left the Jets game vs. the Seahawks and did not return.

Trevor Siemian was carted off with a shoulder injury against the Buccaneers. Rookie Paxton Lynch took over under center.

49ers LB NaVorro Bowman suffered a season-ending Achilles injury against the Cowboys.

Carson Palmer left the Cardinals-Rams game with a concussion and is unlikely to play Thursday night against the 49ers.
