NFL scores 2016: Giants keep pace in NFC East with narrow win over Bengals

The Steelers and Cowboys gave us the most entertaining game of the year, and on Sunday night, the Patriots and Seahawks almost topped it. The Giants and Bengals had a pretty good Monday, too.

As we close the door on Week 10 of the NFL season, the postseason race is starting to sort itself out. The Baltimore Ravens climbed one step closer to earning a playoff berth by beating the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football to take a lead in the AFC North, and several teams improved their position Sunday.

There were eight games in the 1 p.m. ET slate with a pivotal NFC game between the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles on tap. The Eagles ended a two-game losing skid with the 24-15 win and are back above .500 again. Meanwhile, the Vikings continued their skid with their fourth straight loss, falling to 5-3-1 Washington.

The Denver Broncos topped the New Orleans Saints, but not without a little controversy. The Saints were attempting the go-ahead extra point, but the Broncos blocked it and brought it back for the game-winning score. The officials reviewed the play to see if Denver's Will Parks stepped out of bounds on the return, but they upheld the call. Broncos win, 25-23.

Elsewhere, the Kansas Chiefs came back to beat the Carolina Panthers in an ending that had EVERYTHING, and the Los Angeles Rams won for the second time this season without scoring a touchdown. Marcus Mariota has the Tennessee Titans back to .500 with a win over the free-falling Green Bay Packers.

In the second group of games, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys gave us perhaps the best game of the season. Dak Prescott led the Cowboys into Pittsburgh, where the Steelers were trying to end a three-game losing streak. It looked like the Cowboys might seal a victory when Ezekiel Elliott scored a touchdown with less than two minutes left to give the Cowboys the lead. Then, the Steelers drove right down the field and Ben Roethlisberger hit Antonio Brown on a fake spike touchdown to give them the lead.

But the Cowboys weren't done, and Elliott struck again, this time sprinting untouched for a 32-yard game-winning touchdown to break the Steelers' hearts.

To close out the day on Sunday Night Football, the New England Patriots host the Seattle Seahawks gave us a Super Bowl rematch for the ages. Once again, the game came down to the 1-yard line. This time, the Seahawks came out on top.

On Monday night, the New York Giants earned a huge home win over the Cincinnati Bengals to stay in second place in the NFC East. New York might have a tough time catching up with Dallas, but these wins will be crucial if the team wants to land a wild card spot.

Highlights

Another Seahawks game ended in a no-call, but this time the refs got it right.

Why in the world did the Seahawks go for 2 when they were up 7 late in the game?

The Seahawks settled for a field goal, even though it looked like they had already scored a touchdown.

Nothing was going to stop LeGarrette Blount from scoring this touchdown, even if he had to take the entire Seahawks defense with him.

Heavens to Betsy, it finally happened! The Patriots threw an interception!

Richard Sherman was called for a facemask penalty when all he did was grab Julian Edelman's shoulder pad. I'm sure we won't hear anymore about this, huh?

Dez Bryant honored his father, who passed away Saturday. The team gave Bryant the game ball after the win.

Jerry Jones and his son celebrated the Cowboys' big win awkwardly.

The officials missed a pretty blatant facemask penalty that happened to Cole Beasley.

Whoops, the Steelers blocked their own two-point conversion attempt.

Dak Prescott threw a perfect 50-yard bomb to Dez Bryant against the Steelers, and Tony Romo approved.

Philip Rivers joins the exclusive 300th passing TD club, but he also threw two late picks, including a pick-six, to seal the Chargers' loss to the Dolphins.

The Cardinals avoided the horror of going to overtime against the 49ers with a game-winning field goal.

The refs missed a helmet-to-helmet hit and Eagles WR Jordan Matthews wasn't happy about it.

Marcus Peters wants to be the Chiefs' second-string punter so much that he booted a football toward the crowd.

Ezekiel Elliott outran every Steelers defender for an 83-yard touchdown.

Alex Smith threw the ball twice in one play. Yeaaaah, you can't do that.

There's no napping in football, Tajae Sharpe.

The Titans started the game off with a terrible onside kick. The Packers later matched them.

We did NOT need to see that much of Carson Palmer.

Not a great penalty for the Eagles to take so late in their game.

Cam Newton smiled after Eric Berry leveled him, but he probably wasn't happy after Berry snagged an interception and brought it back for a score.

The Titans learned that if you mess with Aaron Rodgers, you get the rest of the Packers, too.

The longest drive in Panthers' franchise history ended with a punt.

Jameis Winston made the Bears defense look a little silly on what might be the play of the season.

See? Jay Cutler CAN throw touchdowns and not just interceptions (but he still throws a lot of those too).

It takes more than just five defenders to stop Cam Newton from scoring.

Bryce Petty has his first TD pass -- on a hook-and-ladder play.

Blake Bortles threw his ninth career pick-six and then just stood still instead of making a tackle. Later, he added this odd turnover that bounced off his teammate.

Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan earned his second ejection of the year.

DeMarco Murray is playing some outstanding football against the Packers.

The Bengals pulled a Jedi mind trick on the Giants with their 'Star Wars' formation.

Odell Beckham Jr. danced to "Thriller" after scoring a go-ahead touchdown before halftime.

Beckham Jr. also helped defend against a Hail Mary with a little help from his head.

Jeremy Hill matched OBJ by offering up a dance of his own.

Cincinnati LB coach Jim Haslett got caught picking his nose by TV cameras.

Injuries

Eagles cornerback Nolan Carroll was ruled out of the game with a concussion.

Lamar Miller left the Texans game with what appeared to be an ankle injury but later returned to action.

Kyle Long has an ankle injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Punter Andy Lee left with a hamstring injury and did not return, leaving kicker Graham Gano to handle punting duties.

Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes did not return after leaving with a possible concussion.

Vikings tackle Jake Long is likely done for the season with a torn Achilles injury. Long is the third offensive tackle the team has lost this season.

Larry Fitzgerald left briefly against the 49ers after getting flipped, but he was OK.
