The last time Ben Roethlisberger’s injury status was up in the air before a game, he wound up taking home AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after torching Cleveland for 379 passing yards and three touchdowns. Baltimore linebacker Terrell Suggs remembers — and he’s fully expecting to see Roethlisberger on the field this Sunday.

“Don’t fall for that ... I saw this movie before, you know,” Suggs told reporters at Baltimore’s weekly press conference. “He’s gonna act like ‘aw, I’m not playing, I don’t know, I did individual [workouts] a little bit.’ But then he’ll walk his big ass on out there and [I’ll be like] ‘how you doin’ Benjamin.’”
Suggs knows something about playing through pain. He’s currently recovering from a torn bicep suffered in a Week 6 loss to the New York Giants.
The two Pro Bowlers share a long history. Suggs and Roethlisberger have met on the field at least twice a year since 2004. In that span, the longtime Raven has sacked his rival 17.5 times.
Baltimore would be happy to face its AFC North rival without Roethlisberger behind center. The Ravens are 6-1 against the Steelers when Big Ben is on the sideline. They’re just 8-9 with the four-time Pro Bowler slinging passes against them.
