NFL Combine results 2016: Darron Lee impresses across all linebacker drills

Lee was impressive on a day where both Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack were sidelined.

The penultimate day of on-field workouts and drills at the 2016 NFL Combine is in the books. The top linebackers and defensive linemen in the nation converged on Indianapolis and took part in positional drills as well as the vertical leap, broad jump, 3-cone drill, short shuttle and 60-yard shuttle runs.

Interception, pass rushing and other positional drills aren't really tracked by combine measurements, but there is plenty of other data to look through and the linebackers just finished up on Sunday. The defensive backs, the final group to arrive in Indianapolis, will hit the field on Monday for the final day of drills.

Darron Lee of Ohio State was one of the top performers of the whole combine with his 4.43 40-yard dash, which would make him one of the faster receivers, let alone linebacker. Guys like Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack were sidelines with injury, so Lee was free to shine and he did so in a very big way.

Lee also had strong showings in the vertical leap and 3-cone drill, and led the rest of the back in both the 20-yard short shuttle and the broad jump. He was slightly under the radar going into the combine and the Ohio State linebacker now has to be near the top of a lot of lists. The only place he didn't excel was the bench, though he still had a respectable 17 reps of 225 pounds.

B.J. Goodson topped the linebackers in the bench press with 30 reps, Travis Feeney had the best vertical leap at 40 inches, and Steve Longa put up the best 3-cone drill time of 7.50 seconds. Below, we have the full linebacker results for the combine.
