The salary cap keeps growing in the NFL and it was reflected in the size of contracts given to free agents who hit the open market on Wednesday.
Former Denver Broncos defensive lineman Malik Jackson joined the Jacksonville Jaguars on a six-year, $85.5 million contract and the New York Giants snagged defensive end Olivier Vernon from the Miami Dolphins with a five-year, $85 million deal.
But no signing will have a greater impact on the future of the NFL than the four-year, $72 million contract given to Brock Osweiler that pulled him from the soon-to-be starter of the defending Super Bowl champions and instead sent him to the Houston Texans.
After the first few days of free agency, most of the top free agents were already off the board, but there are still some talented players without a home for next season.
