THE LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: The mayor of Las Vegas sounds awfully confident that the Raiders will relocate there. Mayor Carolyn Goodman is confident that the Raiders will move to Las Vegas "if Nevada handles this properly," she told ESPN on Tuesday. It is time to start taking potential Raiders move to Las Vegas seriously.
THE RAMS ARE COLLECTING RED FLAGS: Rams safety T.J. McDonald arrested. The Los Angeles Rams offseason story 1A? Relocating to SoCal. 1B? The escalating off-field issues. They signed former Auburn receiver Duke Williams on Wednesday. Williams was kicked off Auburn's team after a bar fight in which he allegedly punched security guards. He had been suspended twice before that. That's why he said "my character is seventh round" earlier this spring.
BREAKOUT RECEIVER? Darius Powe hopes to be the next undrafted receiver to break out in the NFL. Darius Powe, a 6'3, 220-pound receiver, was a late bloomer at Cal, finishing strong as a senior. The Giants are counting on him to carry that momentum into training camp.
UNDRAFTED UNDERCLASSMEN: Bret Bielema's got a good idea about underclassmen who go undrafted in the NFL. It wouldn't affect many players, but it could help a few.
WHERE QUARTERBACKS COME FROM: How NFL quarterbacks are made. This is a really interesting look at the backgrounds of the 15 quarterbacks who were drafted this year. Don't expect many Horatio Alger-type stories from this bunch.
THE BEST PLAYER IN THE 2017 DRAFT: Deshaun Watson leads college football's top 32 players, according to 2017 mock drafts. The Clemson quarterback is on track to be the top pick next year, according to mock drafts anyway.
A BIG YEAR FOR RUNNING BACKS: Todd Gurley and Ezekiel Elliott need to succeed for the sake of the 2017 running back draft class. Next year's draft is loaded with top-tier running backs. How many of them sneak into the first round depends in part on Gurley and Elliott.
OUT OF SHAPE: Anthony Davis "badly out of shape." A year off might not have done the 49ers tackle any favors.
BENCH BRADFORD: Will Sam Bradford get benched for Chase Daniel? That's what some people seem to think.
OFFSEASON GRADES: ESPN's Bill Barnwell is rolling out his offseason grades for each division.
- The Jets and Dolphins were big losers in the AFC East. We're used to seeing the Dolphins screw up their offseason. But the Jets, after a promising 2015, spent a ton of money on old running backs, never resolved the situation with Mo Wilkerson and, oh, there's the little matter of having a quarterback.
- The Browns had a GREAT offseason. They're not close to winning on the field, but the Browns led Barnwell's grades for the AFC North with the kind of offseason moves that should set them up well for the future.
