NFL Hall of Fame Game 2016 live stream: How to watch Packers vs. Colts online

The Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts were planning to kick off the preseason slate with the annual Hall of Fame Game Sunday night in Canton, Ohio, but the game was canceled due to poor field conditions.

The teams didn't sound too thrilled about playing the game anyway.

Teams that play Hall of Fame weekend have an additional game on their schedules during the summer. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared to express his displeasure about that when he talked to the press earlier this week.

"The excitement for me is being a part of the environment, to watch Brett and Kevin go in. I don’t know if anybody’s real, real excited about a fifth preseason game — except for the people making the money on that," Rodgers said. "But it’ll be exciting to be there because there’s so much history and tradition surrounding Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame."

With wide receiver Jordy Nelson sidelined with a knee injury and an older Packers team aiming to stay healthy, it's possible head coach Mike McCarthy may not put many of his starters on the field. The Colts, though, are most certainly not taking a conservative approach. They announced this week they will play all of their starters, including Andrew Luck.

Following a disappointing 2015 campaign, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano may think it's imperative to set a strong tone to start the season. Playing his first unit, even if only for a series or two, could accomplish that. Pagano was rumored to be on the hot seat for the bulk of last season and is probably trying to create a sense of urgency out of the gate.

In addition to the game, Packers and Colts were heavily represented in the Hall of Fame ceremony over the weekend. Brett Favre, Tony Dungy and Marvin Harrison were all inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
