San Francisco lost by a wider margin, but they showed more life in their loss to the Carolina Panthers. Seattle suffered the more significant loss because it was at the hands of an NFC West rival, the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers, on the other hand, dominated the Rams in Week 1 and have a golden opportunity in the division on Sunday.
Of course, the golden opportunity entails traveling to take on the Seahawks in one of the hardest stadiums to play on the road. The Seahawks, on paper, are a much better football team in just about all aspects of play. But while the 49ers put 28 points on the Rams, the Seahawks could only muster a field goal.
Common opponents can't be used to determine who will win, however. The Seahawks' loss to the Rams seems like the exception rather than the rule of this season. As expected, the Seahawks are major favorites and experts think they'll win.
Over at CBS Sports, the experts are unanimous, with all eight picking the Seahawks to beat the 49ers. At ESPN, there is one single expert picking the 49ers, with the other eight siding with Seattle for Sunday's game.
Here at SB Nation, it's a similar spread.

It's similar in that it's totally unanimous in favor of the Seahawks. Even Fooch of Niners Nation isn't picking the 49ers, and neither will the OddsShark Computer. Sunday's game will begin at 4:05 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on television via FOX. A live stream will be available if the game is in your local market at FOX Sports GO.
