In sports, for the most part, there is a divide between fans and the athletes they adore. From time to time, those barriers are taken down. For 15-year-old Steelers fan Caleb Schmitt, he experienced a series of events that opened his eyes and gave him a new appreciation to a favorite player.
Of course, when you think of the Steelers, you think of a first class organization that has six Lombardi Trophies and a rich tradition of winning. They have superstars -- Big Ben, Antonio Brown, and Le'Veon Bell -- that fans gravitate toward ... but like all teams, there are some unsung heroes and fan favorites. Veteran linebacker Arthur Moats is one of these fan favorites. He is a man that cherishes his relationship with the people that cheer him on. Whether it’s hanging out after practice for an hour to sign autographs or simply replying to a fan’s note, Moats seems to find a way of leaving a lasting impression on Steelers Nation.
