The Philadelphia Eagles are on a roll, with four straight wins and a two-game lead in the NFC East. They’ll face the team they have the edge against, Washington, under the bright lights of Monday Night Football. The game will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN (live streaming via WatchESPN).
They’re playing in Philadelphia, and the Eagles are going for the season sweep on Washington. They beat Washington in their opening game, 30-17, before going on to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs.
But since then, they’ve won four games, beating the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers.
Washington is coming off a narrow win over the San Francisco 49ers. It has already had its bye week this season, and is relatively fresh going into its game against the Eagles. Washington also lost to the Chiefs before last week’s win over the 49ers.
The first meeting between the two teams saw Carson Wentz complete 26 of 39 passes for 307 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Kirk Cousins completed 23 of 40 passes for 240 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Neither team was able to run the ball, with the Eagles rushing for 58 yards as a team while Washington managed 64 yards.
Philadelphia will have a commanding three-game lead in the NFC East if it manages to beat Washington. The Dallas Cowboys have lost their last two games while falling to 2-3 on the season, while the Giants are 1-5, coming off their first win of the year.
The points differential in the division is staggering, with the Eagles sitting at plus-43 going into Week 7 while Washington was plus-4, Dallas was minus-7 and New York was minus-27.

Washington vs. Eagles news:

Washington was already without Josh Norman, Deshazor Everett and Rob Kelley.

- The folks at Hogs Haven have taken a look at some preseason promises from Jay Gruden to run the football more and ... have concluded that Washington is, in fact, running the football more.
- Meanwhile, those at Bleeding Green Nation are fairly focused on ... referee Pete Morelli and his crew. There have been allegations that Morelli’s crew is biased against the Eagles due to the high number of penalties called on them, but the NFL has said no such bias exists.
- With the Chiefs’ loss on Thursday Night Football, the Eagles took possession of the best record in the NFL.
