Cameron Brate’s first TD catch in nearly 2 months was a one-handed beauty

The tight end has the Buccaneers up early in Green Bay.

Cameron Brate was stuck in a six game drought without a touchdown when his Buccaneers traveled north to Green Bay. He made an exceptional one-handed effort to ensure that streak wouldn’t make it to game seven.

Brate plucked a Jameis Winston pass out of the sky and rumbled into the end zone to give Tampa Bay an early 7-0 lead over the Packers. It was the tight end’s first touchdown since Oct. 15.

What this means for the Buccaneers: Brate’s spider hand gave Tampa Bay an early lead in a hostile environment. The Bucs have only won once in Green Bay since 1989. A victory Sunday would keep the team’s slim playoff hopes alive.

What this means for Cameron Brate: Brate’s slump-busting catch will help him live up to the standard set by a breakout 2016. He had 57 catches and eight touchdowns for a nine-win Tampa Bay team last season. Through 11-plus games this season he’s hauled in 36 passes and scored five times.
